This movement releases the clamping force on the pressure plate, causing the pressure plate to lift off the clutch disc, thus disconnecting the clutch and no more engine power is transmitted to the transmission.

3. Release the clutch pedal: when the driver releases the clutch pedal, the hydraulic pressure disappears, the spring will clutch pressure plate and the friction plate re-united, the engine power is once again transmitted to the transmission, the vehicle can continue to drive.
