A clutch replacement is not complete without a hydraulic throwout bearing. It guarantees that the transmission and engine can disengage smoothly, preventing wear on both components.

There are various processes involved in installing a hydraulic throwout bearing. The mounting bracket must first be placed at the correct angle. Between 3 and 9 o’clock is the perfect angle. Furthermore, the bottom of the bracket should not be facing downward. The bleed line should then be connected to the top fitting of the hydraulic throwout bearing.

This step is critical for preventing air bubbles and ensuring adequate clearance. The space between the clutch fingers and the throwout bearing must be precisely measured. The distance should not exceed one-eighth of an inch.

It is critical to secure the AN -4 lines before installing the bearing assembly. You can achieve this by cutting a two-inch piece of rubber hose and securing it with zip ties or safety wire. This prevents chafing of the AN -4 lines.

A broken throwout bearing might make it difficult to depress the clutch pedal, causing the clutch to slip. It could also cause damage to the clutch release quill and collar. A worn throwout bearing, in addition to the clutch, can cause the clutch pedal to stick when bleeding. This can be hazardous.

A hydraulic throwout bearing must be installed with a special tool. The gadget includes a shim that sits beneath the transmission shaft’s releasing bearing. After installing the shim, you can connect the engine to the transmission. The o-ring must then be lubricated with brake fluid. A successful installation will result in a quiet and smooth clutch.
